Weddings & Special Celebrations
The Church of Saint Mary the Virgin and All Saints, Fotheringhay, is a unique and magnificent venue in which to celebrate the ceremonial of Christian Marriage and to commemorate memorable occasions, such as anniversaries, through blessing.
The architecturally distinctive building has hosted momentous and historically significant events for over five hundred years and continues to attract those couples intent on confirming and re-affirming their marriage vows in a traditional style.
The distinctive collegiate building, itself designed to host royal occasions and special commemorative events, is capable of accommodating more than 150 seated guests and its acoustic dynamic permits a majestic musical and choral experience.
From the beautifully ornate entrance gates, the long lime tree lined drive leads into the glorious church interior with its nave, four metres in width, bordered by its two-hundred-year-old oak box pews, facing the elaborately embroidered altar, St Mary the Virgin and All Saints becomes a venue of cathedral-like proportions in which to celebrate a very special occasion.

Testimonials
“Whilst on a countryside walk, we stepped into this lovely church and were so glad that we did. Although a working church, there is also space for a small museum and the story of the church.”
“Glancing at the details of the church building and monuments, you know you are in King Richard III country and a place with royal historic connections.”
“A fascinating, and very old, church with useful information on the history of Fotheringhay and Mary Queen of Scots.”
“An unusual church, having lost over half its length when it's collegiate function was taken away during the reformation. The remaining building is high and wide with the seating in box pews.”
